Yes. Mine was updated several days ago.
Does anyone know what the new upgrade does?
Software update
There's hope for me yet!Lodesman wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 7:59 pmAll is forgiven !!! I’ve just been advised on my central screen that an update awaits me.Lodesman wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 9:26 am My car is still on 3.1.10 (dealer updated at service). I’ve given up on OTA updates.
Cars are so much better now than years ago. The only fly in the ointment is infotainment and software. Sadly, they are still unreliable, no matter which manufacturer is involved.
Only four weeks and two days after the update was announced.
Thanks

Received mine on Tuesday. Android Auto is the only obvious difference I've noticed. Was asked earlier what I missed about it and gave my response but yesterday realised another thing was that it lets you have three things all showing on the central screen. Played with google maps via AA; the map appears to be repeated in the speedo screen as well as showing distance and time remaing.

As a non-android user (Apple IOS) all I can see is that I have lost the ETA info on the drivers display.
To be honest, at my age, the text shown there was difficult to read compared to the central display so I don’t miss it.

So nothing gained and something lost. With the system having built-in Google Maps and Spotify I have zero need for Android Auto. I did kinda like having the ETA in the driver's display area though. It's fine having it on the infotainment screen but what happens when you move away from the map to the radio or Spotify etc? You lose that info.
With the hassle of having to sort the tyre pressures out I could have done without this 'update'.

I'm an Android phone user and won't be using AA because as you say we have Google Maps etc. anyway. But some folks do use it and it could be argued that it should have been there in the first place. My view is that you shouldn't have to use a phone to connect to a car to get functionality, apart from using it as a phone. I'll probably get shot down on that!
Not essential, but I've got accustomed to looking at the ETA in the Driver Display as well. Only recently been made available and then they take it away!

Bit of an odd one. Car got the download update message on Monday, I was in no rush to update, so had not done yet. Get in the car this morning and update message has disappeared, and states software up to date on 3.1.9. Have Volvo stopped the update for some reason, or have I missed out, by delaying a few days.

I guess you ensured that the overdue April 2024 service has been carried out too?radroller wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 7:36 pmIt was last serviced in April 2023 and looks like last update was june2023, not sure if they had automatic updates turned on and was serviced at a Volvo dealer in last service in April 2023.AldridgeAndy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 8:42 pmIt would be interesting to find out how your car has managed to be so far behind, has the previous owner turned off automatic updates?
As part of the service schedule your Volvo main dealer will update software as required. Has your car has service at a Volvo main dealer?
Wasn't bought from a Volvo dealer and funnily they've went silent since I asked the question about them updating it
Once you have visited your local Volvo dealer for service and the car is updated to the latest version it will then be re-enrolled in the OTA update schedule.

I got the update message each time I got in the car for about a week, it then stopped and then started again. Haven't used the car for a few days so don't know if it's still notifying me at the moment.
Last time I delayed the update as well until it stopped and then just did a manual search for the update via settings and did the update.
