But one thing that caught me by surprise, and that I only noticed on the day of delivery, is that the tires on the 2025 model are not all-season. So we had to spend €1500 on new all season tires.
Thanks Fanoe, good to know.

I agree with others on the Black paint...i am into detailing to a certain extent and like to keep the car as clean as possible. When washed a new black car looks the dogs....but i recall years ago the day i washed and polished my Audi A3 in black...looked fabulous and then the sun came out...the swirls on the bonnet that showed in the sunlight were what got me started with my first DA polisher. Black is fabulous ..but be prepared to put the hard work in if you want it swirl free as i believe the Volvo paint to not be the " hardest" pint out there. But if you get it ceramic coated or something similar you can keep that black looking fab because a clean black car is indeed something to stand back and admire.

I know it's personal preference but I don't think many cars do look good in black and I have never had one and will never do so. It's not so much the looking after them I think that the lines of the car are often lost. And a Black Edition with black wheels, no thanks!

I've had Black Edition cars from Audi but that is just trim which I like and my two XC40s have had/have got.

The fact that Volvo have an offer on the Black Edition makes me wonder how popular it's been and you don't get much over the Dark version anyway.

In Denmark, the Black Edition is cheaper than the regular EX40, which made choosing a bit easier.

Went to view the Black Edition, it was lovely but too much Black with the wheels and interior (I know it's a Black Edition!!!), but after having a drive of a B4 model and looking at various options I opted for the following...

XC40 Ultra, B4 Mild Hybrid, Dark, Onyx Black, 21″ 5-Triple Open Spoke Black Diamond Cut, Blond Leather in Charcoal/Blond interior (to offset against the other black!!), so my own take on a black edition!! 3-4 months for delivery.

That will be a nice contrast. I've got the dark interior but a light exterior, so again a contrast. Didn't know they did 21" wheels, that's getting big!

Sounds lovely.

Yeah, it looks great with the 21" wheels

When configuring the car, I was looking to add the retractable towbar and the towbar bike rack for 2 bikes (as I like to go our riding with our son), the price for these individually were £1400 and £570 (£1970!) to add to the build, but the dealer advised they had a Towbar Cycle Pack for £1775 which included the following...

• Retractable Towbar
• Towbar Bike Rack for two bicycles
• Front & Rear Mud flaps
• Protective Steel Grille

Which made more sense to pay for separately.

Just about to press the button to order a Black Edition, but the chat has got me thinking about 20" or 21" wheels. Anyone have any experience of an XC40 on 21" rims?
