New design XC40
Some have said that the EX40 and EC40 will get a new generation with model year 2027. Rumors are that they will be based on the EX30 platform.

We are planning to order an XC40 Plus this month. A friend just told me to wait as the new model will be released with better specs. I’ve seen no info on it as yet so have to assume it will be
This is what I just found on google but I think it’s referring to the new MY. B5 is no longer available in the U.K. so the reference will refer to the US.
The 2025 Volvo XC40 is expected to be released between early and late 2025. Here are some updates for the 2025 model:
New name: The Volvo XC40 Recharge has been renamed the Volvo EX40.
New paint color: The 2025 XC40 will be available in Sand Dune metallic paint, replacing Bright Dusk.
Standard equipment: The entry-level Core trim will include power-folding headrests.
Mild hybrid: The B5 AWD powertrain will combine a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a 48-volt battery-and-motor architecture

The 2025 B5 AWD for the US market uses the same old XC40 platform as in Europe; it’s not the next-generation XC40 the OP was referring to. Following the launch of the new XC90 this year, the new XC60 will likely arrive next year, with the new XC40 probably debuting in 2026.
Yes I agree which is why we are going to carry on and order the B4P now. Can’t wait until 2026.
