Well I’ll try my EE sim when I’ve got access to it and if that doesn’t work I’ll call it a day me thinks !

Worth a call to 3 customer services and try the 3 SIM in a phone that has a SIM slot.

I have used Three's SIMs before, never had any problems. For the last two years I've been given a Vodaphone Sim when I had the car serviced, last year I was told they are not supplying them anymore once the current batch had run out. As my Vodaphone SIM expires in a weeks time I'd already bought a 24GB, 24 Months, Three Sim ready to put in the car. I notice that they no longer call it "Internet with Legs", though the T&Cs appear to be the same, so I wonder if they've maybe changed something in the set up of the SIM that is giving you problems.

I thought I might find out next week when I try my new SIM, but my car has just been in for it's annual service, on the off-chance I asked if they were still issuing Vodaphone SIMs on request when carrying out a service, Lo and behold the young lady opened a drawer that was full of Vodaphone SIMs and presented me with one. So I'll be using my Three SIM in my phone for additional data.
Ordered 24th February 2018: XC40, FE, T5, Crystal White, Lava Interior (additional black carpets), 19" wheels, mud flaps, Tow Bar, Polestar, was expected June/July, then 1st October.
Finally took delivery on 16th October 2018. 8-)

If Three changed its APN settings then probably that’s preventing internet connection in the car. The car modem is old hardware designed in 2015, its software could be also 9 years old and unable to automatically overwrite new network APN on old SIMs, Three data SIMs sold on Amazon could be years old, being programmed with no longer valid APN settings. As far as I know, you can’t manually set new APN on a SIM through the Sensus menu.

Chris John, you could ask Three to replace your existing data SIM with a new SIM having the latest network settings, your data plan will remain the same.

The sim is one of those pre loaded ones off Amazon, as is the other one I bought except it’s a Three sim from scancom.
I guess I’ll wait until I have access to my EE sim and try that.
Somethings changed because it was fine. I’ll report back when I’ve tried EE sim

Spoke to Volvo via WhatsApp this morning as I have same problem,as 3G is being turned off three has already started to,I asked what modem is in car mine is 2021 it's 2G/3G/4G but 4G not currently accessible, there is a potential software upgrade to allow 4G accessibility, their words, O2 are not shutting till 2025 apparently so should still work,it is on Volvo website about 2G/3G sunset.guess it's just going to be easier to hotspot phone and use it's data until ( if ) software gets update, shame because the three data sim was so simple.

Just as a add-on 're previous post, had car serviced last week and mentioned the problem to the dealer but it didn't get looked at, mentioned it at their follow up and just had call from them to apologise and they are going to send me a Vodafone sim to try all though I believe they have turned 3G off all ready,I read that some can default to 2G ,don't know how that affects data transfer.
