I have a 2020 model car.
I no longer have connection for Spotify or any other apps.
My Three 24gb data sim card has 8gb left on it and it expires in Jan 2026.
I bought a new 24gb Three sim this week from Amazon and it also does not work.
I have tried both sim cards in my mobile phone and I can access the Internet on both
of them using mobile data.
I have put both sim cards in the modem one at a time and sent a text message from my phone to each
card in turn and the car receives the texts.
When I'm parked up at home I can connect the car to my house wifi and everything works fine.
I have put my mobile phone sim, Sky mobile, into the modem and I can access Spotify and other apps.
Any thoughts why I can't get internet access thru the modem using my Three sim cards.
Thanks

Have you selected the “use car modem” for internet access in the Sensus settings? Maybe it’s been deselected at some point …

I discovered every time I connect the WiFi to a different source it disconnects the last one used. Eg I was connected to the in car data card. Then connected to my phone hot spot which disconnects the on board SIM. You then have to go to the settings to respect the on board SIM (modem)

I have exactly the same problem. Did you ever resolve this?
New data sim purchased and whatever I try the car will just not connect to the internet but will if I connect it to my home WiFi when sat in garage.

Can anyone confirm how to reset modem on 2020 sensus unit?
I’ve tried everything but just can’t get Three sim to connect to internet.
It shows signal strength etc but just won’t show world symbol that shows it’s connected
Used to be fine but suddenly stopped connecting.

From the OP’s description this could be APN settings issue. Sometimes the car modem software is unable to automatically identify new APN like a smartphone does. Previous SIM APN settings might be saved in the modem cache memory and create connection problems. Another issue could be lack of 4G coverage. Three is phasing out 3G and some areas are temporarily left with 2G that can’t handle data traffic like those needed in the car. OP stated the Three SIM worked fine in his smartphone, but that connection could have been 5G. Sensus car modem is not 5G capable.
On the centre display, go to Settings, Communication Internet, Car Modem Internet. Deactivate and reactivate by ticking the box for Car Modem Internet. If another connection source has been used, confirm the option to change connection. I don’t know if Three shows here a menu for Cellular Data Settings (APN, Username, Password), if it does it should correspond with Three’s latest APN settings.
I would try the Three SIM connection in good 4G coverage, such as urban areas. If nothing works there’s the “nuclear option” that will remove all cache data from the system. From the owner’s manual: “All networks can be removed simultaneously by restoring factory settings. Please note that all user data and system settings are reset to original factory settings.” All your settings will be gone, restoring them will require settings up the car manually from scratch. If you choose this option take pictures of all your current settings before proceeding, it will help you in the manual restore process.

Thanks for the eugen61.
One thing I have noticed is if I try to connect car I get all the usual up but no (world) internet symbol.
However if I then connect my phone to car WiFi it works and I can do a speed test and it confirms it’s connected to Three (phone provider is Vodafone)
Yeh may have to try nuclear option

So I went for the nuclear option of a total system reset and it’s still the same.
Next thing is I’m going to put a different provider sim in and see if that sorts it.

I’ve not mainly because it’s a data only sim and my phone has an eSIM
It’s was working fine and suddenly stopped. As did another Three sim.
It’s almost as if Volvo servers are blocking it.
Anyone else got a Three sim in a Sensus system that connects to the internet!?
