I'm currently awaiting delivery of my (first Volvo) XC40 and would like any advice regarding a dash cam. I've looked at the one linked below and wondered if anyone had any experience of it.
Thanks for your help.

When i was at my local dealers other week while i was waiting i noticed there were flyers around the waiting area offering front and rear dashcam fitted price of £535..not the cheapest but if its something they are offering then there will be no issues regarding warranty issues and sensors etc that i have read sometimes dealers are saying certain dashcams can invalidate warranties due to affecting the workings of sensors etc etc

I see this one doing the rounds on a few websites, suffice to say it looks a lot neater tucked in a corner than my Nextbase one... https://accessories.volvocars.com/en-vn ... 26245/2024

I’ve used a number of different dashcams over the last 10yrs.
I’ve settled on one which records at a frame rate of 60fps, 1440p (2k) resolution.
My experience was that at 30fps, even with 2160p (4k), freezing frame in order to read the number plate of an oncoming vehicle I found there was too much motion blur to make the reg number clear. I feel sacrificing resolution for frame rate was the best solution for me.
Also, I wouldn’t use a dashcam that doesn’t have GPS built in.
I playback recorded footage from the micro-sd card on my pc, the software I use shows the video and in a window to the side is a map showing the route and the position of the car synched with the video. Click on any part of the route track on the map and the video advances to that point. I waste hours watching playback of various holiday trips!
