SIM failure

On my way to work this morning, I had a message pop up saying there was no SIM card installed and to install one. Nothing obviously wrong and I thought SIM cards could handle heat so this hot weather shouldn’t affect it. Anyone else had this message? Any ideas? Thanks

How old is the SIM card ?

What data plan did you have on it - just wondering if you’ve used up all the data and therefore SIM now expired ???

Take the sim out and put it back in again
Volvo XC40 T5 R-Drive Pro. Thunder Grey with lots of extras

SIm cards do fail for no obvious reason - the one in my phone packed up at Christmas and had to be replaced. I wouldn't put it down as a particular fault, just one of those things that happens with electronics, particularly when the cards are probably manufactured for a penny a time!

I tried taking it out and back in. No luck. I will contact Volvo.

Was this SIM purchased from Volvo? If not, Volvo can’t help you, you need to contact the SIM mobile service provider.

It’s the Vodafone one you get with the car.

You might waste your time contacting Volvo. Try first to change the SIM in a Vodafone store.
