Anyone tried aftermarket roof bars on their XC40 yet?
Saw a company selling genuine for sub £100 but can’t find them now!

I considered the thule wingbars and found all the parts on tredz for £176, Could save £30 if you buy the feet second hand from ebay/gumtree. Also looked at cruz roof bars but then settled on these that I found going through google images - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303126062675
Arrived this morning, will update once fitted over the weekend before first use.

Same way i found cheaper mud guards and have also managed to find a steel grille/cargo divider, looks and says genuine on a german site alot cheaper than other places ive found.

I have a set of Modula bars from Driveden. They are extendable, so easy to swap to other vehicles with similar roof rails. They do a perfectly good job, have been fully tested and certified, and cost less than £100.

I’ll take a look at those too then, thanks.

The 🐢 ones fit the car fine, easy set up with each end having 3x Allen screws to tighten and secure. Each cover over the top locks and each comes with a key.
Slight whistle when in the motorway doing 70. Didn’t bother me and I listen to podcasts so anything slightly louder eg music you’d probably not notice.
Hope this helps

How wide are the bars? Look may be a bit tight for the clamps on our bike racks.
Do look ideal though.

Fits my Thule freeride 532 great using the t bar system/pins.

Shame, too wide for my bike racks as they are clamp-on type - maximum of 50mm
