On a perhaps facetious note, I wonder if the new update will change the ridiculous process of changing from speed limiter to cruise control and vice versa on my C40 Plus (MY24).
Seven button presses !!!
1. Cancel speed limiter on steering wheel
2. Press menu button on centre screen
3. Press driving button on central screen
4. Select cruise control on central screen
5. Press return to map on central screen
6. Select cruise control control on steering wheel
7. Select speed on steering wheel.
On my previous cars (VW) I could do all of this on the steering wheel.

On my MY25 XC40 Plus, I seem to have Intelligent Speed Assist only, Adaptive Pedal Response, using the traffic sign recognition. No speed limiter as you describe. Perhaps I'm looking and not seeing, I'll check later. Oh I tried the ISA/Adaptive Pedal Response - turned it off again. That's just dangerous in my view.
Thanks
Gavin

The intelligent speed assist is anything but. I agree it's downright dangerous and unpredictable. Fortunately having a MY22 I have the option to change it to a dumb/manual speed limiter. However I never use it as it requires too many actions on the centre screen to swap from cruise control. On the older Sensus models it was a single click on a steering wheel button to swap between cruise and speed limiter. Progress ?

My speed limiter is dumb as I disabled the auto version due to nearly being rear ended several times when the car read a reduced limit on a side road and braked sharply ! The auto version is dangerous !!!

I will need to see photos of this before I update. I like the driver's display and sincerely hope that they don't mess with that too much.

I’m curious if the warranty terms specify any consequences for refusing a software update during the car’s regular maintenance. It wouldn’t be surprising if this could lead to the warranty being voided.

In any case, whenever the car goes in for its next service, they'll do a full update of the system if the software is out of date.

That's outrageous. When shopping for a new car the infotainment system and especially the driver's display are one of the things that could make me reject a car. If the manufacturer somewhere down the line changes the whole look & feel with a software update then it could make you hate your car!
