Apart from the lower ride height and perhaps badge status, the Superb is fine car with envious build quality - pity Skoda does not do 5yr or 7yr warranties as standard, they could and they should.

Having had three VW Passat estates followed by an Audi A6 Avant, I really like estates and have nearly always preferred them over the saloon variant, I had a Skoda Yeti which was a great car.

After having an SUV though I just find estates too long now and doubt that I will have another one. The Superb looks hard to beat though.

True. Though I've still got an Audi TT roadster! The time will come though!

Finally got to view & drive the new Superb L&K yesterday. I’m totally hooked! Currently negotiating a price…

I love estates as have had three Passats, an Audi 80 and A6 Black Edition (lovely car) but I think it would be hard to go back to one as they are so long!

But as my wife is getting a Fabia in the next few weeks I may consider getting a smaller one or maybe a hatchback in the future. But once you've had an SUV it's difficult to go back.

Agree with Chris, My last 8 vehicles have all been SUV’s, so would find it very difficult to have anything else, particularly as the old joints ain’t what they use to be.

Actually the reverse is true regarding “old joints” for my wife and me, both finding it difficult these days to climb in/slide out of the XC40. Entry/exit into the Superb is much easier for us and the much smoother ride is so much better. The XC40 is my first and last SUV but each to his own…

Had 3 XC40’s liked them all but it will be time to change next year, nothing else in the Volvo lineup appeals or is what I consider affordable or value for money.
KIA have a new smaller SUV available from September 24 , it’s the KIA EV3 looks good in the pictures, it’s fully electric which suits me and it’s around 32k
