USB stick for music

I've been successfully downloading CD's onto a USB stick and playing them back in the car. Worked for months and now all of a sudden it's not reading the stick i.e. not recognising it's plugged in. Any suggestions or another trip to garage? (Still under warranty!)

Standard USB socket, ie not the AA/CP socket (if you have one) ?

I'd try another USB stick first. Does that play?

Or, plug a phone into the car socket. Does it charge?

Just as Mike says, try another USB stick first before any trip to the dealership - could save a journey and time

Thanks for responses. Other USB's seem to work (for now). My IT friend suggested formatting USB, which I did but it still didn't work. So, will try new USB and see how long that lasts. If that goes same way then it is a trip to dealer, which fortunately for me is only 7 miles away! Thanks all.

USB sticks do wear out over time by their very nature. As will all other solid state storage, they have a finite number of reads and writes

I like SanDisk. Haven't had 1 fail yet.

Still, now the wife's discovered Heart 70's on DAB, my personal tunes don't get much of a look in

Not the ad supported one. And the pd one is still not HD. I switched to Amazon HD/Ultra HD for the equiv of £6.58pm.
