Deactivate the speed limiter - 22inch tyres - you sure you have brought the right car?? ;)

Volvo have never offered > 21" AFAIK.

I would imagine 22", if practical, would offer an awful comfort/noise level on an XC40.

Like the removal of the speed limiter....then 22" wheels....not sure what an insurance company would think to those modifications. Expect a serious hike in premiums.

Like Oldie...are you sure you want a 2 ton SUV? Seems a sportier car would be more suitable?

@Plumber64, on a 22" Rim guess you'd be running 35 section tyres? which in my experience, on other vehicles, can be a bit harsh over the pot holes. I ended up with all 4 rims buckled driving around the Essex country lanes! Reckon it would look good though.
Can't see why it would negatively impact your insurance, but probably best to advise them as they're all different.

Have you considered a Macan S rather than the Volvo which isn't exactly geared toward speed or driver involvement and enjoyment?

I have a B4 and find it difficult to get much over 35 on average. Cold weather and town driving are killers...

Cornishman, is your B4 a manual or auto, Fwd or Awd?
Newbie about to order an XC40 B3P or B4PAWD in Fjord blue. Will be my first Volvo after many years of Audi and BMW which I’m now bored with…

Doubt you will better much over 35 whilst cold and a lot of town driving - and towards 50 in summer with gentle driving - seen 62 at one point on motorway and a gentle foot.

B engine is somewhat less thirsty than the old T, adding AWD to your configuration will lower mileage by 2-3 mpg due to the extra weight and those rare occasions when RWD is engaged. Volvo engines are not known for being fuel efficient, on top of that you’re looking at a 1800 kg vehicle with poor aerodynamics.

Hi

My mpg much the same as Cornishman , currently 33.8 mpg average, BP4 auto, fwd, did a 200 mile round trip recently 160 motorway/ 40 miles A roads. Mpg first 100 miles 39.5 the second 100 41.2 mpg in eco mode.
Short trips are the killer about 24 mpg for a small round trip of 5 miles picking the grandkids up, to be expected really 2 lt engine, cold starts
Currently 2300 on the clock, mpg may improve in warmer weather but I’m not holding my breath.
T4 recharge, plus spec, 23my
