I think you’re spot on. Looking at XC60 prices across several EU markets, I noticed discounts for cars on stock, but no discounts for configurable ones. A new XC60 is set to be unveiled this year, and in the meantime, Volvo seems to be clearing out old XC60 parts by building preconfigured cars and selling them to dealers at substantial discounts.

2020 T4 FWD Momentum Pro Sensus OS
The Volvo service department confirmed today that this is the expected behaviour and part of the new 'update'. I wish they had listed this as I wouldn't have done the software update had I known. The update has removed two features I liked and as I don't use Android Auto it has given me nothing new. I wish you could roll back to the previous software

Well that's very interesting. It's how mine was prior to the update and how I would like it again. I take it you did the update on both cars and no resets or anything?

Both cars running 3.3.16. I've rebooted the Head Unit and Modem. The XC60 T8 is a rental from Enterprise. Both cars work the same and are early MY24 builds.

I know...its flown by. All good for the service and actually a bit of good customer service by Stoneacre sheffield. The wipers have been a little squeaky of late and so i asked for a quote to replace. Was quoted 34 or 54 pound dependant on which type.....no idea what this relates to...anyway i said well if they are the 30 odd pound type just replace em without even asking me. Anyway got a call later to say car done and so i asked about the wipers....they said couldn't find anything wrong with them and so they had given em a good clean with screen wash and that they should now be fine...great stuff as i thought because i'd given them the go ahead they would have just relieved me of my hard earned pennies.. but 1 little niggle... while they were doing the service they rang and tried to sell me a tracking service at £89.99 when i asked for the tyre depths across the treads they were pretty even on all four tyres at the 3 measurement points so i obviously declined. I do fell this is why so any service plans are discounted nowadays as the chance of upselling must be massive for the dealers at vastly inflated prices too. Just a niggle but feel if this call had been to my daughter or wife...they would have talked em into having something done which in this case was completely unnecessary.Stovo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 1:41 amgripross wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 11:13 pm I do think the XC60's are ugly compared to the XC40 but thats only my take on it....XC90 with big wheels look smart but ridiculous price nowadays. Make the most of the 60 while you have it....they might even try to sell you one at the dealership as i think they are another car thats struggling with sales although i think they dont flood the market with em to keep the prices high. Mine in for first service tomorrow so i'll let you all know what loan car i get. Hope its not V60 like last time as mrs finds em too low to get in and out.
Cannot believe it’s 12 months since you got your car. Only seems like yesterday when you were informing us of issues getting the car!
Loan car was a XC40 Core...bit bland but fine for a loan car and better than the V60 which was too low on a previous service.

Bumped into the guy who sold me this car while i was there...had 5 minutes with him and asked about the difference between my Ultimate and the Ultra as they had one in showroom. He said same car really....but that Volvo have now resorted to letting customers have far more choice regarding add ons again instead of selling you a pack that has bits you don't actually want. I am not surprised by this as when specing my XC40 Pro a few years ago i added bits that kept it under 40k thus not hitting the luxury tax....guessing Volvo have lost too many sales by people seeing that adding a pack taking them above 40k is maybe a deal breaker and so more choice means more happy customers. And i asked ho electric sales were going...he said ok but when i asked what discount you can get on a EX30 he said Volvo do 8k discount without haggling....so am guessing its getting harder for dealer to shift EV'S. Don't know what my next car will be ..but doesn't look like it'll wear a Volvo badge if they end up only making EV'Seugen61 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 7:49 amI think you’re spot on. They've already backtracked on their statement to be all EV by 2030 and so it will be possible to have at least one more ICE car before we are forced into EVs if indeed that happens, though I wouldn't be surprised it the date gets pushed back.
Good that they've seen sense and given customers more choice again. I'll see what they can offer when it's time to change again.
