Why can't we see photos of what we'll be 'upgrading' to? What if we hate it? When choosing a car if you hate the infotainment then it's a dealbreaker. I'll be annoyed if Volvo make me hate my car. I am perfectly OK with the present system.

Interesting but I hope it lives up to their hype as that statement contains a lot of the usual marketing BS!

I hope that they really do improve the driver display but in the end all I want is something that works reliably. They say they have listened to driver feedback, hopefully they include things that shouldn't have been taken out from Sensus.

Outsourcing to yet another outfit! I hope that it is properly developed and tested so that we don't have to " look forward" to a new host of glitches!

But many thought you had issues with the current system since the last update as per a previous thread.

Do a Google search to get an idea of what's coming, pretty easy to get some info. Most of the initial info sounds positive, especially for those with the 360 camera

XC40 MY22-25 owners will not receive these upgrades, they are exclusive to MY26. Since the new system is equipped with a more powerful chip, I wonder whether new AAOS feature upgrades will also become available for MY22-25 owners using the older, slower chip. Volvo will continue to provide essential software updates and bug fixes, but more demanding features could remain exclusive to MY26 and beyond.

I don't agree, it's the Snapdragon processor that is coming to 2026 model year cars. The software is already running on the 2025.5 XC90 without the new processor, which will be upgraded to the new processor for 2026 builds. The info from Volvo clearly states the new software will be an over the air update in 2025 as below:

We will also deliver it to millions of Volvo cars with Google built-in** through a simple over-the-air software update. Later in 2025, around 2.5 million customers around the globe will get an upgrade on their Volvo cars built as early as 2020***.

You’re right about the MY22-25 upgrade, I missed that part in the press release. Are you sure about the 2025 XC90 running on the old processor? Small print states: “The Snapdragon chip is also introduced on the new XC90”

The information is rather disjointed. They say that even cars as early as 2020 could get the upgrade, presumably when AAOS was first introduced to some models.

One long promised feature is wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, we’ll see if it becomes available to the old processor system in XC40 MY22-25. EX30 already has it, but that model came with an upgraded infotainment system.

It's not completely clear to me, but it states that the EX30, EX90 and new XC90 is running the new software. then says:
The Snapdragon Cockpit Platform will also be added to the new XC90 SUV model this year.
The info is dated Jan 28, 2025, so maybe the recently built XC90's don't have the new processor yet.

My take, is it will work fine with vehicles that have the AAOS system, where the update is specified, just that 2026 model years with the Snapdragon processor will run twice as fast.

I dont like the way it doesn't default back to the home screen since the last update like it used to but essentially I like the infotainment system and driver display.
