Volvo have released a new version of AAOS which will be an OTA update. This one however has a cryptic note “This update is only available for late model year 2024 cars”.
We had the earlier 3.2.4 3.2.5 and 3.2.8 which were dealer install only and were identical except to accommodate different hardware.
Would it be a crazy assumption that if your car came with or was updated to 3.2.8 then you should get the latest 3.3.16 OTA?
I’m guessing that we may get a higher version number in the coming weeks that will roll out to a wider audience including earlier hardware?
New AAOS Update 3.3.16
This is a biggie for Android users as it adds Android Auto!! Lets hope it comes to older models too.
It's automatic, just wait until the car console prompts you to install but it will be 2-4w unless of course Volvo pulls it again like they have the previous OTA releases.
I see the update yet again promises improved camera images.
I’m not holding my breath.
The night rear view is still pathetic and has been since I bought the car, far poorer than my previous cars (VW).
I still am happy with the car generally.

Silver B3 Model Year 2024
This is also the 8th release that includes drivetrain optimisations, I wonder if they'll ever get it right
I really wish we knew what these "optimisations" actually were!

Have to agree with Lodesman. I received my XC40 B3 Plus some 6 weeks ago replacing a 22plate Honda HRV Advance. The Volvo is a step up from the Honda in nearly all respects though the absence of some technology betrays its age.
I much prefer the Volvo but the one thing I miss is the Honda's rear view camera which had a bigger screen, adjustable views and was effective at night. I often have to reverse into my drive in the dark which I could view easily enough though the Honda's camera but see nothing through the Volvo's unless I dab the brakes and even then see very little.
Of course I got by for years without a camera so it's a first world problem but I do hope the update improves this.

I think much of it is the small dim reversing lights. I had to reverse along a single track road the other night and, as you say, the camera is useless as are the reversing lights, they don't even illuminate well enough to see the verge by eye. In the end I found that the rear fog light gave the best light! I actually queried this with Volvo and they said that they meet the relevant legislation, so much for putting safety first.
Edit: meant so say that I have no such problem with our Golf.
