Hello. I have 7K miles on my Volvo XC40 2023 , since 2 days when I start the car early in the morning the dashboard shows a message saying refill 1 quart of engine oil, after driving for about 25 miles to work and when i check back in the evening I dont see any messages. I spoke to the customer service on volvo car app they suggested to contact the dealership.I was thinking to refill the engine oil myself, now I am concerned as message goes away after driving for few files and parked for few mins.
What should I do, please suggest if you had similar issue and got it fixed.
TIA.
Car app issue?
I haven't had this issue but I'm wondering if the oil level is at the threshold. So when the engine is cold and all the oil has run back to the sump then it's too low. Once the engine has been used and oil is warmer then it's ok. There may also be some logic to say that the oil level can only be measured after the car has been unused for 12 hours or similar? What did the dealer say?
Another one of those annoying upgrades where the bullet proof and proven technology ie. a dipstick is replaced with a sensor that may or may not be working.
