Could well be but I never noticed it on the way which was over 40 miles. Noticed it on the way home because it was intrusive. Shouldn't it stop anyway if on manual and the fan is turned off?

I wasn't imagining it, started the car this morning and silence. Obviously if on Auto and fan set to 3 you can hear it but the fan speed reacts again now as it did before. Only thought I did have is there a fan for the infotainment unit? Though I've never noticed it before.

That's the good news. Not so good news is that the speed limit display, which has been fine lately, now isn't! On a dual carriageway it started off indicating 30mph and then with 20 showing as the next limit then changed to that and stayed on it for quite a few miles even though I was out in the country and nowhere near any 20 limits! We weren't joking when we said that the updates fix things but also break things and this was a dealer update.

I've done both resets and will see if it's done anything on the way home later. Not holding my breath as on restarting it is showing 20 when parked up and nowhere near a 20.

Oh, and the trip log still isn't working. I got a message during the reboots to say set the Location to On, which it was anyway, so again will check later.

It's just so odd how cars of similar age behave so differently. Except for the AWD our cars are very similar and yet my trip works, same issue with the speed limits, but I also have the seat randomly moving between the two presets. Voice activation of radio stations that are on DAB and FM still only selects the FM. My trailer lights check is still random, I can't work out a sequence to ensure it works which is a problem when I'm on my own. I've had blank maps in the drivers console....

There's always the ultimate full reset which is to disconnect the negative lead of the battery for 30 minutes.?

I noticed in the press today that Polestar has just contracted out it's software development to Infosys in India...I wonder if Volvo will follow suit although I think the two companies are further apart then they've ever been.

I agree, I know we probably have our cars set differently, not that there are many choices now, but I also would have thought that there would be more common ground with "faults". Yours does seem to have more than it's fair share and your seat issue is unique on this forum.

On the way home set off with 20 in the display but it did get it's knickers out of the twist once it picked up a 30 sign and behaved itself after that. Also the trip log is now working again.

So the reboots did the trick. But why don't Volvo mention in the manual that it's a good idea to do them after a software update or indeed the dealer when handing the car back after a service. The dealer didn't even tell me that they'd done the software update, I just noticed it on my phone!

And there we have another difference, my App now says I'm on software version 3.0.3, it did show 3.2.5 but then the App was updated and it broke it.....

Noticed today that navigation now has extra triangle icon on right side of display to report issues (accident, congestion, mobile speed trap etc) much like Waze app
