Considering the impact of the last update I’m surprised they have the nerve. I suspect many owners, including me, have turned off the auto download option,

Unlocking the potential: Why Over-the-Air updates matter

Have you updated your software recently? We hope you're enjoying the latest bugs and your car is still working.

At Volvo Cars, we're committed to continuously changing your driving experience by providing regular updates with new features and bugs, with your inconvenience in mind.

By keeping your car's software up to date, you'll enjoy breaking new features, unusable attributes, and enhanced security. Recent updates have brought challenging improvements, such as the latest Android version in update 3.0.3 and enhanced OTA update scheduling options whilst other annoying bugs remain unfixed. And there's more bugs to come, so stay tuned!

Make sure that automatic software downloads are turned off to prevent your car from being disabled by the next software update. If you're unsure about the update process, you can find detailed instructions on our support site or reach out to your local dealer for assistance with the OTA...

:D As you say, I don't know how they've got the nerve? BS at it's best!

They pulled the last update, it was so good and no new one yet. And they are so secretative about what the updates contain apart from generalisations.

Hadn't had the "whooping" much lately but with the trailer, lightly loaded and two others in the car it reared its head again.

Strange….. suddenly, the Volvo Cars app on my (Android) phone shows the wrong car (an XC60) and a completely wrong location, some 45 miles away from where the car actually is -- right in front of me.
Here’s hoping that some of the Volvo Cars boys and girls are at the very least more or less awake, as an app such as the Volvo Cars app only makes sense if one can trust it, which is absolutely not so at the moment.

I had something similar a few weeks back, it stopped recording in the Trip Log and the location was stuck 30 miles away.
I rebooted the Head Unit and then the Modem and it resumed normal service.
