As I've said many times.

And I won't use the automatic speed limiter as I deem it too dangerous.

Any system that can slam on the brakes at 60mph when it incorrectly reads a side road 30mph speed sign is clearly developed by morons to satisfy the morons in government.

I just don't know how these systems can be allowed with regards to safety?

I suspect for reasons of control World Governments want autonomous vehicles. So difficult to acknowledge the most basic functions don't actually work in the real world.

Yes, I did a bit of research into it when I annoyingly found out that my yet to be delivered MY24 XC40 B3 had ISA fitted (from November 2023) even though the demo I drove didn’t. From a brief look it is made to look as though it is an EU directive for all new cars. However digger a bit deeper it is actually a UN instigated thing from quite a while before the EU decided it should be in all cars. So yeah, it goes way beyond a single country or Europe. I’m certain they will be able to use this to geo fence a car at their will and stop you going beyond a certain distance or even start the car at all .. if they want to.

Of course, on my current Sensus system you can switch everything you want on/off which doesn’t present a problem really. But I gather it’s not quite that easy on the new Google based system where you have to switch stuff off every time you start the car. Is that right?

Actually no, there's not much you can turn off any longer.

I think I'm going to keep my 10 year old Audi TT a little while longer to remind me what a car should be! :D

I'd say mine is 95% accurate - i occasionally get an errant reading (same spot on a certain journey) and it can get confused when a NSL road crosses over/under another that has a 30 limit for instance).

Apparently, speed limit warning can be turned off with one click on the steering wheel. Minute 15:40 in the video: https://youtu.be/Z4xttl5aU4U
