Does this update mean I finally get android auto on my 2024 XC40 mild hybrid? Was promised it was coming in a software update around Christmas but it never came. Don't want to get too excited!

All XC40s from MY23 comes with AAOS what has replaced the previous Sensus OS. So yours is for sure already equipped with android auto, this new release is just a major (?) updates within the AAOS.

Android Auto is for Android smartphone connection to the car’s infotainment system and projects apps from the phone on the centre display, it’s the equivalent of Apple CarPlay for iPhone. Initially, Google decided Android Auto connectivity is no longer needed for AAOS because Android smartphone apps will also be available for AAOS as separate apps downloadable to the car. However, 3 years after launch AAOS app library still has a limited number of apps, therefore Google might include Android Auto connectivity for AAOS in a future update.

It's a shame that OS12 is still two versions behind the current OS14 but at least Volvo is still developing. I just hope they make the same features available for all AAOS cars, no matter their age.
