What does Volvo need calling out for? Yes it seems their communication could be improved, but can't see how a lack of transport drivers and port space is of their making?

I totally agree. How can a company that's worth over 500 billion not have one answer as to when customers should expect their new 'luxury' vehicle? It's not sitting right with me at all that people are being almost forced into cancelling their order due to sheer lack of information, hence labelling it a scandal. The above email address is what I've *guessed* is her *work* email. I'm by no means saying 'bombard her', just for people to have their say to someone that may actually have an inch of power to make something happen in regard to compensation etc. Not one person at the dealership can do anything to help and everyone you speak to at Volvo UK is governed by 'higher powers' in Sweden that apparently control all pricing and everything else! We need to make people aware that we're not just going to sit and wait like they want us to. Sorry if anyone feels this is the wrong approach but I'd bet there are people as frustrated as I am that would like to try and get something back for this shambolic experience.

These « internal » phone numbers and e-mail addresses – personal or business - are not meant to be « bombarded » as the poster suggests.
Ok, I see what you mean.

I sympathise with you all as i too had doubts about whether i would get my car....i stuck with it and got it...but i know how unsavoury it is to be given little or no info. Its a mess and am sure when we ordered our cars none of us envisaged such boundaries being placed in our way

I've been following this post with interest as I Ordered a XC60 on September 9th and i heard from dealer just before christmas that the car had been built but was on a boat awaiting transport to Bristol where there was no space.. I spoke with him yesterday, its still on the boat at Ghent and his apology is below.

I have just checked the latest dates with Volvo Cars, it is saying May as the estimated delivery to us, I am really hopping this is NOT! The case and that your new Volvo XC60 will arrive before this, as for the APP saying the car is being prepare for Handover!! – I will wait to hear what Volvo Cars come back with, and I will call you with an update – Sorry Ian, this is really poor service from Volvo Cars (UK).

Dealer has just called, very apologetic (and as frustrated as me) Volvo just give him messages saying working to resolve the issue.. but no details of what the plan involves or timescales. he said my car is parked on a boat at Ghent, but its not moving.. (must be costing volvo a fortune..) as Bristol has no space. He said there are transport drivers twiddling their thumbs as waiting for work.. He also said its not due to EX30s getting priority as there is a huge stock in UK already (in a field) .

he also said that there were transporter drivers 'twiddling their thumbs' as nothing was moving from the docks..

Wonder what volvo new car sales will be when reported for January/ February and how they will explain the low number...

That explains it then, the EX30s are the priority. Not the XC40s. It seems we can go hang.

And Volvo has posted a large increase in profits - I assume that includes the cars they sold us last year that are currently in a field in Belgium…

At last. I’ve been following the whole thread. Ordered an XC40 B3 Ultimate on 2nd September 2023. As usual, told delivery early December. Despatched 24 November. Delays reported Bristol then Zebrugge. Dealer (Truro) also did his best but kept in dark by Volvo. App useless as reported.
Finally emailed by Volvo for identity check & payment of balance last week (end of January).
Suddenly delivered to dealership with no info to them either on 31 January.
Collected it today. Superb car, really pleased with it, but now on 73 plate weeks away from 24!
Husband quite poorly so couldn’t deal with hassle of cancelling but support complaints of very poor communication from Volvo head office. Dealership have been great and tried their best.

Glad yours finally turned up GrannyB. Sounds like you had a bit of a run around to get to the final delivery stage and getting your car.

I was informed that the transportation company are hoping to deliver my car to the dealer now between the 13th and 20th Feb. The car isn't in the country apparently at the moment but I am still being reassured the 27th Feb is my expected delivery date. Only time will tell I guess, I am not getting my hopes up though.

Gives me hope GrannyB as I was only a few days after, I really do love the car which is why I don't want to cancel
