I spoke to Volvo customer service yesterday and was told they are now moving vehicles in the hundreds, my car was also order early Sept and came off the production line mid Nov. The customer service rep could only say that he felt it very likely that my car would be with my dealer by the end of Feb.

He appreciated that my car was one of the first to be held at port in Belgium but apparently that does mean it will be one of the first cars to leave the port now that cars are moving at last.

Would have been nice to have heard this news from Volvo rather than having to chase them for it but given their track record on managing the communications on this issue it’s not surprising

Reading about all these delays yet Volvo are advertising a new car sales event 16th - 25th this month. Strangely this applies to stock cars with quick delivery. Maybe you have to collect from port yourself.

That's not uncommon. When I was looking to order my new company car in September, the XC40 was showing as having a 10 month lead time. So I didn't bother!

Called the dealership to get an update after seeing great news regarding movement at the ports on this forum and they informed me 2 customers had picked up their new XC40s, one ordering on 09/09 and the other 14/09, of course I ordered on 12/09...! They had no idea where my car was (shock!). I phoned Volvo UK and they updated me that my car was in Bristol (woohoo!) and estimated it'd be at the dealership between 14th-17th Feb so I asked to confirm that I can hold off collection until 01/03, she's going to come back to me tomorrow as the team to confirm had clocked off. Has anyone been able to defer pick up recently? I'm not sure how the process works with plates etc.
