Waiting in the T8 whilst my wife is shopping. Engine on to keep warm and charge the Hybrid battery, nowhere up here to plug it in and I fancied a bit of electric driving. Costing a fortune, but a bit of fun. And I'm saving the planet at the same time, apparently...
So far I certainly wouldn't buy one. It somehow feels dated compared to the XC40. No Bin, no folding boot floor, no Pixel lights. To change driving mode you have to go into Settings>Driving and select from there. Ridiculous.
But they have bothered to put the Heated Screen and Hazard Warning buttons on the drivers side!

Makes you wonder who designs these cars...do they actually put any thought into what goes where? or is it s i suspect...all about the cheapest easiest option?

Looks like I've got the T8 hire car till after Christmas and driving it home Sunday, part not arrived from Volvo.
Just realised the T8 doesn't have BLIS, got quite used to the XC40 beeping at me when reversing blind out of parking spaces and orange flashing wing mirrors. It also doesn't have a heated front screen because it has HUD, which I turned off. But the Large black HUD pod reflects in the windscreen right in your line of vision. Very annoying.

Thats the thing...once you've had something you miss it if its not on next car.At the price that XC60 must be i'd be a bit miffed if i bought one and it didn't have heated screen. Can shove the HUD where the sun don't shine for me but each to their own.

Oh and enjoy the car while you've got it...at least they've come up trumps on the loan car.

Hardly the most cost effective and efficient way of dealing with a relatively minor repair is it! Though I guess it's not a third party hire car.
The XC40 has been painted as the poor relative by some but it doesn't seem to be the case?

Hire Car is from Enterprise paid for by the warranty not the dealership.
The XC60 is probably the reason they removed AWD and the B5 engine from the XC40. Don't get me wrong, the XC60 is a very plush car but doesn't really deliver a pleasant driving experience.
It's no BMW for sure.
