Low Coolant Level

Volvo technician found leak from a small manifold coming off the water pump at the bottom of the engine. Taken it into Volvo at Stockton and he drove me back. Gotta wait now to see what happens. After 4 hours I'm entitled to a hire car.

Update: Dealer called to say it's the water pump, should be fixed tomorrow or day after. I should have an XC60 hire car with me later today.

Just got the XC60 T8, it's quick! (In a straight line)

Water pump is on order from Sweden so don't know when it'll be fixed.

Love the air suspension, AWD, massage seats, Bowers & Wilkins sound system but too much going on when you accelerate for my liking. Can feel the electric and ICE working out what it should all be doing. Very fast though and better in Sport Mode.

Good that your car's being sorted but don't they keep any spares over here, certainly things like water pumps!

I bet that XC60 is a few bob! Pity that new cars, which can be good in many ways, fall down when it comes to the driving experience due to the complication of the power/drive train etc.

It seems water pumps rarely fail, but yes you'd have thought one would be in the UK. Might arrive in time this week but unlikely, so I'll probably be driving the XC60 home. Can't fault Stoneacre Stockton though, they had the fault diagnosed within 2 hours and would have had it fixed the next day it the parts were available.

Whilst slower I'd have the B5 mild hybrid. And it's 6k cheaper in Ultra spec. Have to admit I'm impressed how well the air suspension keeps the lardy car flat when cornering energetically. Much less body roll than the XC40.

Well sounds like the "runabout" they've given you has been a breath of fresh air.....but they don't hold waterpumps in stock? really? not as though they take a lot of shelve space up in the stores....i get they might not fail very often but surely you'd expect a main dealer to have enough parts in their stores to build a full car if needed. You'd think they'd have one just for reference. But every cloud and all that means a chance to drive something deifferent which i'd never turn down.

When the Volvo on Call guy thought the 12v battery had failed on ours there were none in the UK and they were on back order with no ETA. Turned out it was just a loose earth connection. Makes you wonder what they do actually stock.

Good to know you had a good experience with Stoneacre. They are my local dealer and were very good to deal with when buying the car. Good to know aftersales is up there as well.

I normally use Stoneacre Grimsby and they have been good too.
