I have an Emovis Tag (for French tolls) and wish to fit it up on the windscreen. However, having discussed tag location with Emovis, they strongly advise to fit the tag somewhere inside the mottled/dotted area of the screen (ie in a non-athermic area around the rear view mirror). Needless to say, that’s where the problem starts! My ‘24 B3 just has a large plastic ‘box’ surrounding the rear view mirror. No mottled area! So, following it up with Volvo Cars tech team, they’ve stated that the windscreen is neither athermic nor heat reflecting, just tinted. Therefore, does that then suggest that the tag can be fitted anywhere on the screen??🤷🏻‍♂️ Any advice greatly appreciated. TIA.

We just place it on top of the dashboard when approaching the toll booth. Works fine. However the EV does not have any heating elements in the glass.

Thanks for your input Cevoli21. If all else fails, I’ll stick my mitt out the window whilst holding the Tag!😉😂

I have mine mounted on the windscreen, at the top about 1cm from the centre binnacle on the drivers side. Works fine there, just returned from my sixth trip to France since fitting it.

Living in Belgium and France, I have toll tax tags since many years. Put it somewhere high up on the windscreen and you'll have no problem. But even Cevoli21's solution is OK and works just fine.
If you insist on sticking your mitt out of the window whilst holding the tag you'll probably be the first to do it, but it may work as well. If it doesn't, at least it's worth the fun, I guess.

Okay, thanks for the input, assuming the windscreen glass on your First Edition is of the same spec as that on a new XC40 mild hybrid petrol one?

Okay, interesting to know that. Thanks. By the way, the ‘mitt out of window’ comment was purely tongue in cheek!😉😂

I think we've already covered that on some other thread (can't find it now). I live in Croatia and my tag is placed near that "large plastic ‘box’ surrounding the rear view mirror" you mentioned, on the passenger side, at the top (mottled area). Never had any issues with its scanning.
