All they seem to do is fix bugs and issues rather than make meaningful improvements.

Why can't they just state what the stability improvements are? You may notice the map no longer appears in reverse; why, how does this improve things....
Volvo really has no idea how to communicate in a meaningful way with their customers

I think you read the same FB group as me. Personally, I don't think that's true. Also, I had to get in my car and check it's behaviour because I'm not looking at that screen when I reverse

Thanks

The way bugs manifest themselves can be varied, depending on individual settings, usage, hardware and even specific hardware component manufacturer. To list every bug fix would serve little purpose, because many will be at a level not seen by the user. It would also increase user communication when a user incorrectly believed a bug was "fixed". The frequency of change and required software updates makes it impossible to keep this "simple".

Well many suppliers do manage to give a more detailed view of changes in a release e.g Apple and Google and they have a much larger portfolio to manage than Volvo.
I don’t believe customers have asked for this level of computation in cars, it is more that manufacturers see it as a product differentiator and then try and outdo the competition. The huge centre touch screen was not really a thing until Tesla saw it a way of reducing cost but more importantly fixing issues via OTA despite the interface being less safe. I understand that the safety testing is going to include operation of certain car functions without distracting the driver, it will be interesting to see how this progresses.
