"Fairly low" of course meaning massively unlikely In general it's probably best to try and keep a sense of perspective on these things, rather than worrying unnecessarily about something with a minuscule probability. Forums like this are great, because if someone is unfortunate enough to encounter a problem, then people are very generous with their time and knowledge, as we can see on this thread too. But the downside is that if somebody's a bit of a worrier by nature, then they can easily start persuading themselves that a particular problem is likely to happen to them at some undetermined point in the future, or diagnosing imaginary problems like some kind of car hypochondriac. (Still, I suppose it's better than googling self-diagnoses of medical conditions...)
Another Failed Auxiliary Drive Belt-B4 Mild Hybrid
You are right to suggest keeping a sense of perspective on these things, but several members have reported tension-pulley bearing failures. Bearings wear and finally fail over relatively long periods of time, new ones failing should at least raise some interest?
Mine's coming up 3 years old and no problems. So it would suggest a recent small batch, and if they know the problem, no longer an issue with brand new cars?

Maybe it's my background in science and engineering, but no, not with me it doesn't.
What would raise my interest is real data - normalized failure rates for a particular component per 1000 vehicles, across all brands and all models, worldwide, sorted by age and mileage and market (country). (Yes, I know, that would be an ideal world )
But drawing any kind of conclusions from sporadic and anecdotal evidence - no, I don't think so.

Got my car back today. Service department confirmed the belt tensioner had failed, causing the belt to self destruct.
Luckily, no other damage as belt failed when car was stationary.

Thanks. The only real issue was getting the car handbrake off and the gearbox out of park so it could be pulled onto the recovery truck. The Volvo Assistance tech knew how to do this, but by the time the recovery truck turned up they were both on again. Thinking this may have been when the car was locked? I have read that sometimes the recovery folk cannot release them.

The Belt on my car would occasionally squeal on start up on wet /frosty day but nothing more than that.
It was in for it's first annual service today at Volvo Dealer and I was advised the ISG Belt and tensioner need to be changed and it is not recommended that I drive the car until this is done. At 5700 miles It is a bit worrying and maybe a recall should be considered.
Any more users of the forum with similar experience?
Parts due to arrive tomorrow and be fitted Thursday so a 3 day period of no car.
