Re: Software update
In any case, whenever the car goes in for its next service, they'll do a full update of the system if the software is out of date. That's outrageous. When shopping for a new car the infotainment system and especially the driver's display are one of the things that could make me reject a car. If the...

Re: Destination summary in drivers display
Yeah, that info is now only available on the centre display, after last update. Personally not a massive issue, but would be nice to get it back in driver display, hopefully after next update That said, am sure it appeared ‘out of the blue’, and did not link to a software update, or am I losing the ...

Re: New XC40 sudden power loss - safety issue
Thanks once again for your support. After 6 weeks of full-on 24/7 involvement on our part, we are now feeling a small sense of relief that it is almost all over, and we can enjoy driving again. Even the dealership were astonished that we stuck with Volvo in the end, but given your comments, we have...

Re: New XC40 sudden power loss - safety issue
Personally I think you have been massively ‘ short changed’. That said, if you are satisfied ( not happy) with the resolution, then it does not matter what the rest of us think. Sounds like your dealer has done its best in finding a replacement vehicle, albeit ( in my opinion)l inferior to your orig...

Re: New XC40 sudden power loss - safety issue
Given what happened on the in question, there are many who totally understand why we did not wish to set foot in that vehicle again. Even with the part replaced there is no guarantee that all would be well going forward. I get it. If it was a straight forward mechanical issue that required a new pa...

Re: Interior offgassing - the 'new smell'.
Whilst somewhat off original thread topic, have to say I find the standard sound system more than adequate for my needs. Max Bygraves dulcid tones fill the car beautifully as my duff duff duff Boogie Wonderland days are long gone. I can hear some readers saying ‘ who the hell is Max Bygraves, and fo...

Re: Center screen with vertical lines
Definitely a trip to the dealer, and get them to sort, particularly as it’s under warranty.

Re: B3 vs B4 engine
As you stated increase in euros, not sure it would make a difference to yourself. In the UK luxury car tax ( a joke) will also have a bearing for some in the decision making process, as B3 could well fall below £40k threshold, depending on how you spec it.

Re: XC-40 R Design Pro
Did you not physically view the vehicle before purchasing, so as able to check it had everything you expected. Even if purchasing from a distance you can request a video and paperwork to double check.

Re: Advice needed - which model?
I agree with Eugene61. I had a T4 previously, and in over 4 years and some 36k, never had an issue. I now have a car with AAOS which I do prefer to Sensus, but the latter was absolutely fine, and certainly not a deal breaker. Would definitely recommend getting a model that has BLIS and tear traffic ...
