Re: Random electrical gremlins?
So on mine most recently I've had the warning about auto full beam a few tines. I've just been through a car wash and was told the all wheel drive needs a service. In hot weather the stereo might reboot several times before coming on and actually playing the radio. Sometimes the blind spot sensor wo...

Re: Tricks to get better MPG.
The downside of the eco setting is the reduction in air-conditioning/heating/demist. If it is raining I find the car struggles to keep the windscreen completely clear and mist can be an issue, as soon as you switch to another driving mode this solves this issue. I've set my individual drive mode se...

Re: Poll: Lead times ( from order till delivery)
I bought the car sat in the show room, and just had the dealer upgrade it from Intellisafe to Intellisafe Pro and add the smartphone integration. I ordered on the Weds, and picked up the following Weds.

Re: Active high beam headlights
Hi do you find you have to turn on the auto dip function every time you start the car is there a way to set this option on permanently I'm here to ask the same question. On my old Mondeo it was possible to set this option on permanently, whereas the XC40 resets when started and needs the twist of t...

Rear parking sensors are standard on all trims, front parking sensors are only standard on the inscription and inscription pro. Front sensors can be added for £325 on other trims.

Re: What have you just found out about your XC40.
I've realised, or at least I think I can guide the car as to when to kick in the stop/start when stopped on auto hold. Press the brake softly, and the engine will stay running, giving it a firmer push and the engine will be stopped. Find it useful when creeping at a junction and want a quick start t...

Re: Key not in car warning?
I've found sometimes the car automatically turns off the ignition when I open the door, after parking and pressing P - but not always. I'm not sure if its reliant on having reversed first. I now panic and double check everytime. It does chime if the door is opened while the engine is running, but it...

Key not in car warning?
Picked up my new XC40 yesterday, and today was stood in the coffee shop looking back at the car, wondering why the lights were on and the mirrors hadn't folded - when the horror dawned on me that I'd simply gotten out of the car and not stopped the engine - the engine had simply stopped under the st...
