For new XC40 orders in UK internet via vehicle integrated modem is included for four years with data roaming within the EU. I’m wondering if data allowance is truly unlimited during these four years, are there any T&C that could limit data volume? Prime Video from Amazon’s streaming service is available as AAOS app and it can consume tens of GB of data per month, also in roaming.

It will be interesting to see how much will Volvo charge for the continuation of the service in year five now that AAOS cars are no longer equipped with PSIM slot for personal data SIM.

I haven't found anything that limits the data usage.

I have used Tidal for music and Prime for video. Not sure how much I have used or how to find out but so far so good.

And you can still use your phone's hotspot for internet.

This plug-and-forget device could also be used as PSIM hotspot to connect the car to the internet. It has 25 days standby battery and is powered with the engine on using a 12V socket or USB port from the cabin or the trunk: https://amzn.eu/d/9QIEJGt

I think I saw a "fair use" clause while browsing through my AAOS car's system menus. Might be worth look.
Cheers,

That’s what I’m worried about. “Fair use” can be tricky for large volume of data in roaming, I’ll check the small print.
